StringTalker is an iPhone companion app and Apple Watch app for archery. This policy explains what information the app uses and where it is stored.
Microphone and motion data
When you choose Start Listening, StringTalker uses the Apple Watch microphone and motion sensors to help detect a bow release. Microphone audio is analyzed on the Watch. It is not recorded, saved, uploaded, or sent to StringTalker or any server.
HealthKit
StringTalker starts an Archery workout session to help keep release detection active while the Watch app is in the background. The session is discarded when you stop listening. StringTalker does not read your Health data or save a workout record to Apple Health.
Reaction clips
Reaction clips that you import are stored locally on your iPhone and transferred to your paired Apple Watch using Apple’s WatchConnectivity service. Clips and their names are not sent to StringTalker servers. You can delete clips in the iPhone app; clearing the library also removes synced clips from the Watch when it receives the update.
Local preferences and permissions
Sensitivity, reaction delay, and volume preferences are stored locally on the Watch. The iPhone app stores local transfer bookkeeping so it can avoid resending clips that are already queued for the Watch. Microphone, motion, Health, and local file permissions can be changed in your device’s Settings app.
Tracking and advertising
StringTalker does not include advertising or analytics code and does not track you.
Data deletion
Deleting StringTalker removes its locally stored app data. You can also delete individual reaction clips or clear the clip library from the iPhone app.
